I haven’t read the Austen take on zombies. I’ve only just reached number five on the wait list at the library, but I saw a link on Twitter today announcing the sequel:
I don’t know. The dialogue might take some getting used to and one has to wonder when originality might jump the shark here.
I haven’t read enough Austen (or, read Austen closely enough) to catch all the references.
The “jump the shark” phrase cracks me up … Tried explaining it to my 11-year old (who has never watched Happy Days) and was met with a blank stare. Much better luck with “nuking the fridge” after he watched Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.
I think I can safely give this whole genre a miss, and be the better for it.
might read the first, but this is clearly a water-based monster…
I think it’s awesome 😉
The first book was a huge hit and this looks like fun but I’ve never read Austin and the parody angle would be lost on me.
I might have a chance to find out why sometime this fall.
The shark-jumping may have already occurred …
It always does.
